Define the two candidates clearly

Request each VIN, original-market description, build date and verified technical identity. Keep the relevant PLUS generation or version visible rather than treating the suffix as one specification across all years. A current overseas brochure may not describe the used vehicle being offered from China.

Build equivalent records for both candidates. The X5 PLUS specification guide explains the evidence fields, and the same discipline should be applied to the CS55 PLUS. Unverified entries must remain visible instead of being filled from an unrelated advertisement.

Choose the customer requirement first

Ask what the buyer needs in routine use and which features are essential. Cabin access, luggage tasks, parking visibility and usable controls can be demonstrated. Styling and screen appearance may influence preference, but should not displace a practical requirement the customer has explicitly stated.

Use the use-case review to request meaningful evidence. Where a dimension determines suitability, obtain a matching reference or measurement. Do not assume that a larger model number or a more elaborate cabin photograph guarantees every practical advantage for the intended user.

Compare the equipment that works

Request a demonstration of the same important functions on each car. Keep local operation separate from account- or network-dependent services and identify modifications. A higher trim only supports an equipment premium when the required features are present, functional and relevant to your customers.

The function guide helps avoid claiming universal compatibility from a translated menu. Record the result and any dependencies. If a feature remains unverified, decide whether it requires more evidence or whether the customer can consider a different confirmed configuration.

Make inspection evidence comparable

Agree equivalent core checks and record the limitations of both assessments. Review service evidence, body repairs, powertrain observations and ordinary preparation items. A low odometer displayed in a listing should not outweigh missing maintenance or an unresolved inspection finding.

Use the inspection standard to classify accepted condition and pending work. The useful comparison concerns the vehicles in the condition you expect to receive, not just their age and styling. If a repair remains undiagnosed, retain that uncertainty rather than assigning an arbitrary allowance.

Ask the workshop about both configurations

Provide the installed engine and gearbox information and known repair needs. Ask about diagnosis, applicable service references, compatible components and supply timing. A shared manufacturer does not establish identical parts or a common preparation schedule.

For repeat imports, consider whether one configuration fits the workshop's capabilities and customer segment better. A mixed range may still be sensible when its differences are understood. Keep the support assessment connected to the actual candidates rather than converting one successful repair into a general statement about a model's reliability.

Review the next available pair afresh

A previous comparison may have favoured one model because a particular candidate had stronger records, less preparation or a more suitable feature set. Those reasons do not automatically apply to the next two offers. Carry forward the evaluation criteria and inspect the new evidence rather than repeating the earlier result as a model-wide rule.

Ask the sales team which features customers actually requested and which were assumed to be desirable. Ask the workshop which support differences were confirmed and which remain estimates. This keeps the comparison connected to practical buying conditions instead of a broad impression about brand positioning.

The final note should identify the selected VIN, the requirements it meets and any remaining purchase conditions. A colleague should be able to understand why that vehicle was selected even if its model badge would not have been their first preference. That is a stronger basis for a repeatable dealer decision.

Choose on a complete commercial basis

Align quotation currency, delivery stage, inspection and preparation inclusions. Separately record current destination estimates and unresolved items. Avoid promises of fixed resale margins or turnover based on a badge; those outcomes are not established by a sourcing comparison.

Send the primary X5 PLUS requirements through the dealer enquiry and identify CS55 PLUS as a separate alternative where appropriate. The quotation worksheet helps make the decision understandable. Record why the selected car fits the customer, its condition standard and its support plan, leaving the next purchase open to a fresh review of different available candidates.
